Bio
My name is Tyrone Pillay and I’m a Manager at Toyota Motors Europe, in the Sports and Athlete Support department, where I help enable athletes and para-sport events to perform at their best. My work spans programs across para-cycling, wheelchair basketball, para-athletics, and wheelchair tennis—bringing structure, stakeholder alignment, and practical delivery to complex, fast-moving environments. I have spent 21 years with Toyota across Toyota South Africa Motors and Toyota Motor Europe, within IT and the Sports Departments.
Alongside my professional work, I am a Paralympian and bronze medalist who competed at the Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games. That lived experience of elite sport shapes how I lead and support others: with resilience, focus, and a deep understanding of what athletes, teams, and organizers need to thrive under pressure.
I’m also an advocate for disability and inclusion, and through my ambassador role with Jumping Kids I support children’s mobility by helping connect them to prosthetic support.
