Dr. Michael Durst – or simply “Mike” – is the founder of ITONICS, the world’s leading Innovation OS, an AI-powered platform combined with a systematic framework for managing innovation efforts. With more than 20 years of experience in innovation and technology management, IT strategy and management, entrepreneurship, and university research and teaching, Mike empowers companies to identify emerging technologies, trends, and market potential and translate them into tailored growth strategies.
After spending more than five years in strategy and IT consulting, he built and led the innovation and research department of a Fortune500 company, eventually founding ITONICS in 2009. Under his leadership, ITONICS grew from five to over 150 employees on five continents today and continues to evolve.
Between 2010 and 2016, he also taught and researched as a professor for business informatics/technology management at the FOM University of Applied Sciences in Nuremberg as well as at various other universities such as the European Business School or Steinbeis University Berlin.
