Diego Guevara

Senior Global Design Director at Nike

Bio

Diego is a Global Senior Design Director at Nike’s World Headquarters, where he has been shaping the future of sport and design since 2016. With a career spanning over two decades across entertainment, fashion, luxury, advertising, and digital industries, Diego brings a combination of creative vision, strategic leadership, and cultural depth to every stage he takes.

At Nike, Diego leads product innovation, concept, and creative strategy in close collaboration with world-class athletes and cross-functional teams, driving the brand’s long-term design vision at a global scale.

Beyond his design role, he serves as Co-Chair of Nike United’s LAFN, stewarding a 2,500+ member community and partnering directly with executive leadership on strategic programs that advance representation within one of the world’s most iconic companies.
Deeply committed to expanding opportunity in the creative industry, Diego co-founded Latinx Design Crew, an independent network dedicated to the development, celebration, and elevation of Latin design talent. Through mentorship programs and career initiatives, he has championed minority designers at scale, and in 2023 extended that mission into the community by launching high school design programs in partnership with local non-profits. He also serves on the Board of IMPACT Immigration, a non-profit offering pro bono psychological evaluation to immigrants and refugees across all backgrounds.

Born in Ecuador, Diego immigrated to Miami at 16, eventually finding his creative voice at the intersection of branding, advertising, and design. Before joining Nike, he served as Creative Director for global agencies and brands including Sony, Johnson & Johnson, AT&T, Warner Music, Hilton, Marriott, and Oribe. From 2011 to 2016, he also taught as a Design Professor at Miami Ad School, while building independent partnerships with the NFL, MTV, Univision, CBS Sports Network, the GRAMMYs, and Carmelo Anthony, among others.

Whether on stage, in the studio, or in the community, Diego’s work is driven by a single conviction: that design, at its best, is a tool for culture, identity, and change.
